Here's another installment from our late-November 2012 road trip from San Diego to San Francisco and back.
It was such a nice day on Sunday in San Francisco that we decided to spend it outdoors rather than inside of museums. Golden Gate Park has lots of options, and we went with the Japanese Tea Garden and the San Francisco Botanical Garden. We did stop into the new incarnation of the DeYoung Museum, first in order to go up to the observation deck, which has a very nice view, and then a little later for some lunch in between our visits to the Tea Garden and the Botanical Garden.
Here are a few images from the Japanese Tea Garden. I find Japanese gardens are always a nicely balanced mix of natural and man-made beauty.
Here are a few images from the San Francisco Botanical Garden. This is a very well laid-out garden, with a nice variety of plants.
I have no idea what this next flower is, but it's different from just about anything I've ever seen before.
