Seven Magic Mountains

I drove from San Diego to Las Vegas last week for a short conference for work.  About 12 miles north of the California - Nevada state line, and just east of I-15, is a public art installation called Seven Magic Mountains.  Created by Swiss-born artist Ugo Rondinone, the 7 towers of day glow-painted boulders stand 30 to 35 feet tall.  They are an impressive site, with pretty much nothing man-made in the background as far as you can see.  It was a bit warm out there on Wednesday, at a little over 100 degrees, so we didn't stay too long.

  1. Wow! How completely and totally cool. They look like they must be freshly painted. I will have to put this on my bucket list.
