Exactly 4 years ago, on Christmas Eve 2005, I picked up my new 2005 Nissan Xterra. I've spent a lot of time in the deserts of Southern California, but never had my own 4WD vehicle before this one. I was looking forward to exploring places I could not get to before. Shortly afterwards I found out about the local Xterra club, SCCX, the Southern California Club Xterra. That lead to meeting several people who have since become very good friends, and many off-road adventures around Southern California. You can find images from the various Xcursions with SCCX in these galleries. Other trips around Southern California to explore the many things there are to see can be found in these galleries.
The Xterra has also taken Heather and I on some great road trips, the longest so far being a 3,500 mile trip in the summer of 2007 that took us from San Diego up to Montana and back. One of the highlights of that trip was the fact that we spent almost no time on the Interstates, instead taking the smallest roads we could find. You can see images from that trip at this gallery.
The image above was taken at Font's Point, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, just after sunset in December of 2007. The rest of the shots from that day can be found here.
