Apparently peacocks are quite territorial. I've seen it before, with one trying to push people out of his territory, but I've never seen a showdown between two of them before. That's not really what is happening here, but I'm not sure that this peacock has figured it out. I watched him for quite a while, and he was sure determined to keep this intruder out.
The peacocks at the San Diego Zoo are fun to watch. They roam the whole place, going where ever they want. I've even seen them wander out into the parking lot, where staff will try to gently convince them to go back inside.
