Aldo and Calli

I've not posted any pictures of Aldo and Calli in while, but they're just as much fun to photograph as the tigers, so here are a few from this weekend.

Aldo was hanging out on the bed in the late afternoon sun.

As soon as Heather came in the room he immediately shifted his attention.

Sometimes he gives me this very suspicious look.

Calli, on the other hand, is infinitely inquisitive. Not much gets past her.

One Very Relaxed Tiger

Here are a few pictures of Connor, the Malayan Tiger at the San Diego Zoo, from Saturday, June 21, 2014. He's not at all relaxed looking in these first few pictures, in fact, he's looking pretty intense and focused.

Late in the afternoon he decided to relax a bit. This might not be my normal style of photo, but it was just too good to pass up. He actually stayed like this for quite a while.

Big Tiger and Little Flamingos

Here's a shot of Connor the Malayan Tiger from Sunday at the San Diego Zoo. We spent a lot of time waiting for him, and he was only in this particularly nice light for a minute or two, and then he was gone again. It was worth the wait.

On my way out of the Zoo on Sunday afternoon I stopped by to check out the new baby Flamingos. There are 3 of them, and they are only a day or two old. This first little one was hanging out with his (or her - who knows) mother, and after a bit she just sat down right on top of him.

Once I lost sight of the little one in the picture above I shifted my attention to another, who was now being fed by mom.

Meanwhile number 3 was learning how to swim. There is a series of shots of this little one climbing over the bank (with a bit of help) and tumbling down into the water face first at the link at the end of this post. He didn't stay in the water very long.

Remember the little guy from the first picture? After a bit I noticed something odd with the mother, who appeared to be sleeping on her nest. At first he was a bit hard to spot.

Eventually he poked his whole head out.

Meanwhile, one of the bigger adults was keeping a close eye on me, or so it seemed.

Guapo the Jaguar

The male Jaguar at the San Diego Zoo is named Guapo. It's easy to see why (unless you don't know what the word means in Spanish). I stopped in to the Zoo late this afternoon for about an hour right before they closed. Almost all of that hour was spent with Guapo. Here are a few images.

A Few New Tiger Pictures

Here are a few new pictures of Connor, the Malayan Tiger at the San Diego Zoo, from yesterday and last Saturday.
