U R Here

This is the directory of the various food stalls at the Liberty Public Market at Liberty Station (the former Naval Training Center) in San Diego.  There is some really good food here, and it's always a fun place to wander around.

Amur Leopard - San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has two new female Amur Leopards.  The hope is that one of them will like the male Oskar, and maybe we'll get some Amur Leopard cubs.  There are almost no Amur Leopards left in the wild, so some new cubs would be a great thing.

Here is one of the two, she really is quite beautiful.

Hippos - San Diego Zoo

Mother hippo Funani and her daughter Devi were chasing each other around playing on Saturday.  Here are a few images.

That's 1.5 year old Devi on the left.

In this next one Devi is on the right.

Malayan Tigers - San Diego Zoo

Here are a few pictures from Saturday of the Malayan Tigers at the San Diego Zoo.

Connor was in the smaller enclosure for the day.  He came down to the glass a few times to check out who was there.

Berani spent most of the day sprawled out napping, but Cinta was all over the place - including several trips into the pond.

I did get at least one nice shot of Berani though.

Super Moon Over The Pineapple Boat - San Diego

Tonight's Super Moon in San Diego, as seen from near the Ferry Landing on Coronado Island, across the Bay from Downtown San Diego.  The Dole Atlantic, loaded up with what looks like 250 containers of, I guess, pineapples, was sitting directly in line with the track of the moon rise.

Balboa Park San Diego at Sunset

Here are few images from a recent early evening walk around Balboa Park in San Diego.

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration in Old Town San Diego

Here are some images from the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration in Old Town San Diego this year.

We ran across this old cowboy sitting at the bar at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. He looked like he may have been there for a while.

Everything was decorated, even the topiaries.

Heather's favorite was the pirate with his parrot.

Not everything was skeletons, some were just painted to look like them.

Old Town State Park - San Diego, CA

I spent some time in Old Town State Park in San Diego this past weekend.  I was there mostly for the Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations, but I managed to get a few pictures of other aspects of the Park as well.

Here is the shopkeeper at the Racine & Laramie cigar store.  I'm not a smoker, but the light in the store was too good to pass up.

There is a very high concentration of stores in and outside of the Park selling all sorts of stuff for the tourists.  Old Town is apparently the most heavily visited of all of the California State Parks.  With so many visitors it doesn't surprise me that some need to be reminded how to behave.
