Comic-Con International 2015 - San Diego - Part 1

Here are some pictures from Saturday at Comic-Con International 2015 in San Diego.  This is by far the best day of the year for people watching in San Diego (or probably anywhere else, for that matter).  There is no particular order to these photos, I mostly hung out at the front of the Convention Center and let the spectacle come to me - never quite knowing what was going to show up next.

It's all fun and games . . . until you see something really disturbing.  For any fans of Milla Jovovich as Leeloo in The Fifth Element, you have my condolences.

Actually, I spoke briefly with that guy, he said he was surprised at just how much attention he was getting.  I think he was joking.  Here's are some nice smiles to bring us back to reality . . . or at least as real as you can get at Comic-Con.

Comic-Con International 2015 - San Diego - Part 2

Here are more images from Comic-Con International 2015 in San Diego this past Saturday.

I narrowly escaped a shark attack when I stopped to check out Sharknado 3.

It was very crowded on Fifth Avenue. Everybody and their cat was there. Really.

Aldo and Calli have assured me that they do not want to go to Comic-Con next year.

Comic-Con International 2015 - San Diego - Part 3

Here is Part 3 of my pictures from Comic-Con International 2015 in San Diego last Saturday.

This guy from Mad Max was great.

You just never know who is going to come walking through the crowd. Some Jack-In-The-Box samples would have been nice, I was getting hungry about that time.

Have I mentioned yet just how crowded it was?

Yes, that is the same professional religious protesters in the background that we've seen in prior years. They were all over the place this year, complete with megaphones and boom boxes blasting out their messages, but there were some people with home-made pro-Comic-Con signs following them around at times too.

There was a huge crowd gathered below this balcony at the Hard Rock Hotel. Apparently some or all of these people are famous. If anyone knows who they are, feel free to let me know.

Time to head home.

We had plans for Saturday night, so I was only able to stay downtown until around 3:00pm.  I would imagine that it just kept getting better into the evening. But, it was hot, and even superheroes need to take a little break some times, I guess. I've posted these pictures more or less in the same order that I shot them, and this really was the last picture that I shot for the day.
