Scripps Birch Aquarium and Cabrillo Monument

Heather and I spent an enjoyable day touring around San Diego with some friends from Montana. We thought we would tailor the day's touring around something they don't have in Helena . . . salt water.

We started at the Scripps Birch Aquarium. The jellyfish tanks are some of my favorites.

The kelp forest tank is always fun to watch.

They've got a few new seahorse exhibits that are definitely worth stopping in to see.

After the Aquarium we stopped at the Cabrillo National Monument, site of the Point Loma Lighthouse.

There is a little spiral staircase that leads up to top of the light.

It only seemed appropriate to have lunch at the Fish Market Restaurant on Harbor Drive afterwards.

Click here to see more images from today, including a shot of what has to be the restroom with the best view in San Diego, and even a shot of the view from the window.
